Central to the project vision for this 200,000 square foot 15 acre corporate headquarters, was to create a significant landscape setting in harmony with site constraints. Due to a steep site, landscape parking terraces were created meeting program requirements and providing significant shade for Texas summer days. The visitor parking area is treated as a plaza with a bosque of pond cypress trees, and a vine covered architectural parking canopy. Courtyards surround the building integrating the interior space with the outside. The landscape was environmentally responsive, with special consideration given to creating a ‘green’ tree canopy for all pedestrian areas.
“This project is a great example of integrating building and site. It is one of the best solutions I have seen”. – Bill Pederson, Kohn Pederson & Fox – Dallas AIA Awards Jury.
Talley Associates received a Texas Chapter ASLA Award of Excellence (1999) and a Dallas Chapter AIA Citation Award for the project (1998).
